Storing coffee properly

Storing coffee properly can help preserve its freshness, flavor, and aroma for a longer time. How the Coffee is preserved,  can vary depending on several factors, such as the type of beans, the roasting method, and the storage conditions. No matter how coffee is stored, it will decline over time, with an impact on its freshness, flavor, and aroma.

It is important to follow the instruction on the coffee bag, but if there aren’t any, here are some tips on how to store coffee:

When coffee is exposed to air it quickly degrades its flavor and aroma. Store coffee in an airtight container, preferably one with a valve that allows carbon dioxide to escape while preventing air from getting in.

Keep coffee away from light, heat, and moisture: Light and heat can deteriorate the quality of coffee, and moisture can lead to staleness. Store coffee in a cool, dry, and dark place such as a pantry or cabinet.

Contrary to popular belief, do not store coffee in the fridge or freezer. The coffee can absorb moisture and condensation from the fridge or freezer, which will affect the flavor of the coffee and lead to staleness.

How long the specific coffee can last will be described on the bag, but if you are following these tips, it can help you preserve the quality of your coffee and enjoy its rich flavor and aroma in that period.
