Peru filter coffee is an Organic coffee that is cultivated by the Cenfrocafe cooperative in the Jaén Province in the Cajamarca Region, which is close to the border of southern Ecuador.
The Cenfrocafe cooperative was founded in 2005 and has 2,500 members. With the support of Nabosam Cooperatives, they tried to create a good and fair basis for the many small coffee producers in this part of Peru
Cajamarca has stable warm temperatures during the day, and at night the temperatures can drop drastically due to a lack of clouds.
The balance between the temperatures leads to slower growth and also gives a more aromatic bean. This microclimate seems to be extraordinary for coffee cultivation
The Cenfrocafe Cooperative has since 2010, worked with a large program to improve the quality of production and the lives of farmers. They hold workshops, provide technical help and support with agricultural consultants. They also provide members with a complete agricultural education.
Cenfrocafe is one of the most important organizations for organic coffee production of high quality in Peru.
In the roastery, the beans get light/medium-roast which gives a good quality coffee with notes of apple, hibiscus, dried apricots, light floral, honey, dark berries, grape, plums, milk chocolate and roasted almonds.
